CGC Staff

Jesse Kearns has been involved in outdoor ministry since he discovered church camp in the summer of 1983. Since then, he has spent 114 weeks at church camp as counselor, college camp representative, chaplain, director, keynote speaker and facilities manager of Craig Springs Camp and Retreat Center in the Virginia Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Jesse is currently the pastor of First Christian Church in Chico. In all the years he’s done camp, this will be the first time he’s directed a camp for Middle School age campers.

Stan Slavin has served 7 seasons of youth camp at CGC and numerous camp work days. He started as a Junior camp counselor when his son Jack moved up to Chi Rho and went on the counsel Chi Rho when Jack moved up to CYF. He went on to co-direct Chi Rho and is now stepping up as Dean of the tribunal Junior, Chi Rho and CYF camp. Stan is a member of First Christian Sacramento and is an engineering manager for Caltrans.
